Southward is a magazine born in the South, not as resistance, nor as reaction, but as perspective. We observe the world from a position that is often ignored, but profoundly revealing.

Critical, but never cynical.

And we believe that the South has something unique to say to the world, even when the world forgets to ask.

We are a gesture of attention. A way of looking, a possible outline. We think slowly, we write carefully, and we believe that South America, with its restless history and its vocation for new beginnings, has something essential to add to the global debate. We don't promise definitive answers, only the honest effort to ask better questions.
